Jeep Brand celebrated their 75th anniversary July 15th by show casing their military heritage with a commemorative Wrangler 75th Salute concept vehicle.

It was July 15, 1941 when the first Willys-Overland Motor Co. was awarded contract by the United States government to build the very first Willys MB. To celebrate this, Jeep Brand built the Jeep Wrangler 75th Salute concept on the same assembly line that produced the Iconic Jeep Wrangler for decades in Toledo Ohio.

Though the Jeep Wrangler 75th Salute concept resembles the original Willys MB, it has the guts of today's Jeep Wrangler Sport model. It includes a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and a six-speed manual transmission.

In addition to Jeep's military heritage beginning in 1941, they began developing vehicle for civilians by 1945.  The brand is known today for it's class-leading capability and craftsmanship. Their vehicles are suited for both the rugged terrain and the concrete jungle.

Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand-FCA Global said, ā€œSince they were first produced in 1941, Jeep vehicles have been the authentic benchmark for off-road capability, having mastered more terrain, led more adventures and provided drivers more freedom than any other vehicle before or since.ā€
