Safety

When purchasing a car, safety should be one of your main concerns. The Renegade provides multiple features that will help keep you safe. Such as the Active Headrests. These headrest are desigend to protect against whiplash during a rear-end collision. Unfortunately the Ford Escape does not provide this type of feature.

For the Latitude and Limited models of the Renegade, there is an optional Collision Mitigation System. This system will alert the drive of a potential collision ahead using forward mounted sensors. The vehicle will automatically apply the brakes at full-force to either avoid or reduce the force of a collision. There arent any features like this on the Ford Escape.

Another great optional feature, is the lane departure warning system. When enabled, the vehicle will alert the driver if they are drifting out of their lane and will gently nudge them back to where they need to be.

The Jeep brand provides a better warranty than Fords. The Powertrain warranty will cover the Renegade 40k miles longer than what Ford will cover the Escape. A fully covered Renegade for 5 years or 100,000 miles will repair any engine, transmission, axles, joints or drive shafts services. The Ford Escape will only get a 5 year or 60,000 mile coverage.
