The return of the new Jeep Cherokee is highly awaited by fans here in the Avondale area, but the new Cherokee will need to receive a few touch-ups before it hits production lines. Because of this, we'll have to wait a bit longer to see the new model on the Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Avondale showroom floor. This will ensure that the model's quality is of the highest caliber.

Originally scheduled to begin production this summer at the Toledo, Ohio assembly line, pre-production example builds of the vehicle began several months ago, and photos of the compact crossover were leaked far before the model's official unveil at the New York Auto Show this past month. In spite of the additional quality checks, the Cherokee should still hit our Avondale Jeep showroom this fall.

There are some rumors going around that the new Cherokee's 9-speed automatic transmission (the first for a production car) is also getting some tweaks before it hits production lines. This transmission will be paired with either a 271 horsepower 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine or a 184 horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder, as well as several all-wheel drive systems. More luxurious models, including the sporty Cherokee Trailhawk trim, will receive the brand's Trail-Rated designation.

Though we'll have to wait a bit longer for the new Cherokee, we're certainly excited about its arrival!

Be sure to stay tuned here with Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Avondale blog to receive the latest updates about the new Cherokee's arrival. In the meantime, don't hesitate to check out our current selection of new Jeep vehicles. And, of course, we're happy to set up Phoenix drivers with a test drive anytime during normal business hours.
