Takata Airbag Recall Overview

In late May 2015, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released an announcement of the Takata airbag problems. Depending on the make and model, some vehicles need to have their front, driver's side, or passenger's side airbag inflators need to be replaced. Airbag Recall Details - What vehicles are affected?

According to FCA, they have 5.2 million vehicles globally that are suspected to be affected. These vehicles would need to be reviewed and determined if the airbag inflator needs to be replace. There are 4.7 million vehicles worldwide that may need to have the front, driver's side airbag replaced.

Latest Information

An article posted by NBC News was published mentioning about FCA recalling about 322,000 Dodge Charger sedans. The side airbags can deploy when the car door is slammed. They have reported that they are aware of 3 potential related injuries, but all described as minor. There have not been any accidents reported in regards to this recall.
